Initial Visit

At New Life Family Chiropractic in Victoria, Texas your initial visit will give Dr. Betsy an opportunity to go over your concerns, needs and goals for your health and life. We ask that you provide information about you, your life, and any events that may have contributed to your current state of health.

After going over your paperwork, we will examine your posture, range of motion and neuro-biomecanical function. This allows us to see what structural compensation your body might be making to adapt to the stress on your nervous system. The information gathered from your history and functional assessment will give us a baseline to help you reach your goals as well as insight to gauge if you are a candidate for chiropractic care. Plan to spend, at most, 45 minutes to allow time for us to be thorough. At this time Dr. Betsy will outline a treatment plan best suited for your needs and answer any questions of concerns you have at this time.

Subsequent visits typically take no more than 10-15 minutes. This will vary with patients that may have multi-factorial issues.

Active Care

  • Relief

    • When a patient initially begins care after suffering from the effects of accidents, falls, injuries, stress (physical, chemical or emotional), repetitive activities and bad posture, the initial relief phase is designed to quickly reduce their pain and discomfort.

  • Correction

    • Once pain is under control the main focus becomes correcting spinal misalignment and neuromuscular reeducation. This phase is imperative to stabilize and restore function to the joint and surrounding tissues. This sets the stage for long term benefits and continued pain relief.

  • Maintenance

    • This phase is the point where outward symptoms have dissipated and the patient can perform daily activities to their perceived "normal". Keep in mind effects mentioned in the relief phase can cause a re-occurrence of spinal misalignment, and an absence of symptoms does not necessarily mean an absence of spinal restrictions.
